The Stones I Love to Work With: Fire Opal, Blue Goldstone & Maligano Jasper

Every stone I choose for Worthy of Love Creations earns its place for one reason: it stopped me in my tracks.

When I'm sourcing stones for a new design, I'm looking at color, pattern, texture, and how the light moves through it. I want every piece I make to feel special — something you reach for again and again because it's just that beautiful. Here are three of my beautiful selections and why I love working with them.

Fire Opal or Lab Created Fire Opal

Fire opal has that warm, glowing orange that shifts toward red or yellow depending on the light. It's one of those stones that genuinely looks like it's lit from within — and it photographs beautifully, which doesn't hurt!

I've used it in two pieces I'm really proud of:

Fire opal is a stone that people notice. It's a conversation starter on its own.

Blue Goldstone

Blue goldstone is actually a man-made glass infused with copper crystals — and I think that makes it more interesting, not less. Those tiny sparkling flecks catch the light in a way that looks almost like a night sky. It's genuinely stunning in person.

I love working with it because no matter the setting, it always looks rich and intentional.

My Blue Goldstone Sterling Silver Wire Wrapped Bracelet is handcrafted with sterling silver wire, wrapping the stone so the light can catch every sparkle from every angle.

Maligano Jasper

Maligano jasper makes me think of taking a walk outdoors and enjoying the beauty of God's creation. Every single piece has completely different swirling patterns of cream, rust, and brown — it genuinely looks like abstract art that God painted. No two stones are ever alike, which means every pendant I make is one of a kind.

It's a stone that does the work for you. My job is just to get out of its way.

My Maligano Jasper Sterling Silver Pendant uses simple wire wrapping for exactly that reason — nothing should compete with that incredible natural pattern.

Amazonite

Amazonite is one of those stones that draws you in with its color — a soft, blue-green that feels fresh and natural. I love how it photographs and how it looks against sterling silver wire. Every piece has its own variation in tone, which makes each one feel personal.

My Amazonite Sterling Silver Wire Wrapped Necklace lets that beautiful color take center stage with simple, handcrafted wire wrapping.

Fossilized Coral

Fossilized coral is one of the most unique materials I work with. It's not a stone in the traditional sense — it's ancient coral that has been replaced by minerals over millions of years, leaving behind intricate natural patterns that you simply can't replicate. Every piece is a little piece of natural history.

My Fossilized Coral Sterling Silver Pendant Necklace showcases those incredible patterns with minimal wire wrapping so nothing gets in the way of the detail.
